Lon Chaney
The Man of a Thousand Faces

Lon Chaney 8x10 3 1Lon Chaney, known as "The Man of a Thousand Faces," was Hollywood's premier character actor during the silent period. He took his complex characters and legendary make-up artistry to rise to leading actor status. His ability to make himself completely unrecognizable was unparalleled in such films as "The Phantom of the Opera," "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," the lost film "London After Midnight," "He Who Gets Slapped," "Tell It to the Marines," and many, many others.  Chaney tragically died of a heart attack in 1930 just after completing his first talking feature.  A career that was still on an upward trajectory.

"The Road to Mandalay" was a silent feature film from 1926 and was thought to be lost until an old abridged print was found in Paris.  It is an adventure on the high seas.  Chaney stars as "Singapore Joe,"  an old former sea captain, blind in one eye, who tries to reunite with his daughter, after life as a criminal, twenty years after abandoning her as an infant.  It co-stars Owen Moore, Lois Moran, and the legendary actor, Henry B. Walthal.  It was directed by Chaney's most frequent collaborator, the legendary Tod Browning, the director of the quirky firm, "Freaks."

This poster is a complete recreation from top to bottom.  It took about 16 hours to complete.  The original was in such poor condition that restoration was impractical, recreation was the only possibility.  The poster measures 24″ wide by 18.6″ high. It is printed on 12 mil near-white poster paper with a matte finish. It comes with mounting tape, but you can also hard mount it or frame it for a very beautiful and distinctive look. It also comes with a mini "before and after" showing what the original looked like, and a brief bio of Mr. Chaney.

Add this poster to your collection and show it off to your friends.  It is a true collector's piece.  There isn't anything else like it, and this price is a limited time offer.
