Restored Posters from the Early Days of Movie Making.  The Lost and Forgotten are Lost No More.

History has not been kind to early movies.  From American’s entry into the commercial movie business in 1893, thousands and thousands of movies were made.  It is thought that more than 90% of those made before 1950 are lost never to be seen again.

Lost Movies Made by Forgotten Studios Starring Unknown Players.  The first wave of movie studios, like Essanay, Selig, Lubin, Edison, Vitagraph, and Biograph flourished.  Hundreds of smaller studios and independent movie makers made thousands of movies.  Most of them have vanished, never to be seen again.  Forgotten stars, forgotten movies, forgotten studios.

Posters Survived!  Thousands of them in various conditions.  Printed on cheap paper and meant to be disposable, some were well preserved.  Most (thousands and thousands) suffered.  Ink bleeds and blurring from moisture, sun fading and bleaching, color shift from too much darkness or too much light, tears and creases, dust (lots of dust), bug bite infestations, liquid spills, and so much more.

But We Have Many!  Our collection of restorations continues to grow daily.  We have restored more than 500 posters; the cream of the crop are presented for you in our Movie Poster Store.
